Hitch up your britches, /reporters, it's our first ever Ask Us Anything episode. We talk about translations, how to make friends, which fandom is the trolliest fandom ever to troll (spoiler: see our cover) and derail very, very early on into discussion of astronauts versus cavemen, the most important hypothetical of all time.

Our RSS/iTunes feed can be found over here or you can follow us on twitter for even more inanity during the week.

What are you waiting for? Go grab this week's episode!

Speaking of reading fic in translation, [archiveofourown.org profile] tuai is writing some great Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf RPS in Spanish, and I know a couple of their fics are being translated into English.

As for transformative works of fanfiction originally written in another language translated into English, I know there's some of that going on in kpop fandoms, particularly Super Junior. I have a friend who was translating Chinese fics into English and posting them locked for a few people.

I also know of a few authors who've translated their own works, such as this one here. She'd originally written it in Chinese and then translated it herself into English. I've also seen this TW fic, which the author translated from Spanish to English.

In terms of the lack of of other language ---> English translations, I think people who predominantly participate in English fandoms tend to be spoiled in that they expect material to be produced in English or consider it to be pretty much non-existent (in that it's non-accessible).
