Fair warning: teal deer ahead

Ok, I really just want to share this with whoever might read the comments here.

I became acquainted with Hannah--the one who sent me pterodactyl furry porn and the SLO fic entry--at a going away party for one of my friends who was moving across country. One of our mutual friends, R, is a very...let's call him "open" type of person; one of the hallmarks of being his friend is either seeing his penis, catching him having sex, or walking in on him watching porn. (R's a delightful friend, but a terrible roommate.) At the party, my friends were trying to shock me with tales of their sexcapades because I'm asexual and a virgin. After about 45 minutes of this, I was laughing hysterically and finally managed to tell them that because I read a LOT of fanfic and did a lot of supplementary reading, I was pretty well-versed in many kinks and sex practices. I told them that my primary fandom activity was reading about boys in bands having a lot of dirty gay sex. And then R called Hannah, told her I read fic about band boys just like she did, and passed me the phone. Thus a beautiful, torturous friendship was born.

We've been friends now for 4 and a half years, including two deliciously awful years where I was in love with her and she was flattered but didn't return my feelings, have taken numerous trips and vacations together with Joe--the friend we torture by reading him terrible fic--and have plans for a beautiful platonic plural marriage between the three of us where we live in a commune and they have sex with boys while I cook them delicious food.

This part goes out to the fandom confessional anons who fell in love with their co-writers: Please, please try to find your old friend that you loved and let them know how you feel. Even if it turns out like my unrequited love did, you can still get back an awesome friendship. And if it does work out, then you owe it to yourself to try. Hannah's not my girlfriend, and that's okay now, because she is one of my best friends, and she loves me that way. I wish you the best, lovelorn anons; I hope they love you back the way you want them to love you. ♥

Yesterday Hannah found the fic with the worm that gaffielabs submitted. She CALLED ME ON THE PHONE to read it to me.

My fannish friend and I went on a road trip, and our afternoons were devoted to listening to your podcasts. Many times we laughed so loud I almost went off the road. This is okay in the painted desert, but not when on that little highway that leads up to the overlooks on the Grand Canyon. So...lesson learned. No listening to any slash report on any road that has a speed limit over 25 mph.
