Date: 2014-04-02 05:19 pm (UTC)I was listening to the podcast and I had to pause when the bit about going into a story (like Drasctically Redefining Protocol) and knowing what you're going to get, tonally. Because that's what I felt is why most of my flist was raging about when it came to the finale and the mother.
p.s. Ianto is still a death that I still feel angry about. It was pointless, actually there was a point. It was to show everyone that Russell T Davies is the master of all, and because we loved Ianto more than Gwen, his favorite and admittedly the supposed heart of Torchwood (Yup, the one that retconned Rhys forever and a day after telling him of all the horrendous things she did to him, is totally the heart of that show). See, I still have much anger after so may years.
